National Conservatory of Historic Vehicles

The National Conservatory of Historic Vehicles (CNVH) in the city of Diekirch presents the history of the automobile and motorised land transport from the late 19th century onwards. The museum is housed in the former Jean Wagner car factory, where some of Luxembourg’s earliest automobiles were built.

In addition to the permanent exhibition on automobile manufacturing in Luxembourg, the museum regularly hosts themed exhibitions featuring beautifully restored vehicles. A must-visit for all automobile enthusiasts.

National Museum of Military History

The National Museum of Military History (MNHM) in the city of Diekirch is internationally renowned for its objective presentation of the Battle of the Bulge in Luxembourg during the winter of 1944–45. With over 100,000 military exhibits and detailed life-size dioramas, the museum offers an impressive insight into this dark chapter of Luxembourg’s history.

A second section is dedicated to the history of the Luxembourg Army, from the founding of the Grand Duchy to the present day.

General Patton Memorial Museum

The Patton Museum in the city of Ettelbrück presents the history of General S. Patton’s Third Army, which liberated the city during the Ardennes Offensive. 

Visitors can learn more about the events of the liberation and gain insight into this important chapter of the town’s history, also known as “Patton City”.

City Museum Diekirch

The City Museum of Diekirch offers an overview of the city’s history across five exhibition rooms, from the Stone Age and Roman times to its industrial past, while also addressing contemporary themes.

Located next to the museum, the Kulturhaus regularly hosts temporary exhibitions and showcases works by local, regional and international artists.
